How hot are your sauces?
Backwater Heatworks Cayenne & Pepper Sauce sits at a solid medium heat.
Backwater Heatworks Jalapeño Citrus Sauce is medium only if you drink it straight out of the bottle. Once it hits real food, it settles into a mild-to-medium kick.
What’s the difference between your sauce flavors?
One is red and one is green, so already they don’t agree on much.
Cayenne & Pepper is bold, classic, and straight to the point with clean heat.
Jalapeño Citrus is bright, green, zesty, and hits with a splash of citrus.
Both belong in your pantry, your pocket, and your cup holder.
Are your sauces all-natural?
Yep. Clean ingredients. No weird stuff. No science projects.
Do the sauces need to be refrigerated after opening?
We recommend refrigerating after opening to keep things fresh.
That said, there’s usually a bottle in my truck’s cup holder and it’s still kicking just fine.
How long do the sauces last once opened?
Fresh is always best around here, and honestly, once you taste it, the bottle probably won’t be around long enough to worry about.
That said, once opened, our sauces will stay good for 6–12 months when refrigerated. They’re made with vinegar and peppers, which naturally help preserve them. For best flavor, keep the cap tight and store it in the fridge after opening.
Is it safe a little longer than that? Usually, yes. Does it taste best when it’s fresh? Absolutely!
